Modules
What Dexy's modules are, which are on by default, and how to turn a module on or off with d!modules or the dashboard.
Dexy is built from modules. Each module is one job, like stats, counters or moderation, with its own commands and settings. Every server picks the modules it wants: turn on what you need and leave the rest off.
A few commands aren't part of any module and always work: help, settings, the module switches, the setup check and privacy. They're under Settings and Tools in d!help.
Every module#

ModerationLive · on by default
Warnings, timeouts, kicks and bans, cleanup, channel locks and a case log.
Auto-modLive · on by default

Reaction RolesLive · on by default
Messages members react to for roles, like colours, pronouns and pings, in nine modes.
WelcomeLive · off by default

LoggingLive · off by default
Event logs: message edits and deletes, joins and leaves, bans, role, channel and voice changes, each to its own channel.
EconomyLive · on by default
Coins, a bank, daily rewards, work and pay for chatting, gathering, a farm, crafting and trades, a shop of profile cosmetics, profile cards and leaderboards.

On by default#
Stats, Counters, Moderation, Auto-mod, Auto Roles, Reaction Roles and Economy are on in a new server. Auto-mod does nothing until you add a rule, Auto Roles hands out nothing until you set up a join role or sticky roles, and Reaction Roles does nothing until you make a reaction-role message. Logging is off until you turn it on, and posts nothing until a log category has a channel. Welcome is off too, and sends nothing until a message has a channel (or its DM is on). Economy only matters once members start playing: nobody has a profile until they claim a reward or work a shift.
Turn a module on or off#
In chat, d!modules lists every module and whether it's on, off or coming soon here. Admins turn one on or off by its key:
d!modules
d!modules enable logging
d!modules disable counters
d!modules
d!modules enable logging
d!modules disable counters
d!modules on and d!modules off work too. Turning modules on or off needs Manage Server, or a role with the settings role permission.
On the dashboard, open the server's Overview and use the switches under Modules. Each module's own page has the same switch.
Every change is recorded in the audit log.
When a module is off#
- Its commands answer that the module is turned off in this server, with the command an admin can use to turn it back on.
- Its commands are left out of
d!help. - Its background work stops in this server. With Stats off, messages and voice time aren't counted; with Counters off, counter channels stop updating.
- Its data and settings are kept. Turn it back on and it carries on where it stopped.
Joins, leaves, invites and member counts are still recorded while Stats is off, because other modules use them.
Coming soon#
Modules marked "coming soon" in the list above are planned but not built yet, so they can't be turned on. They appear on the dashboard under Coming soon too.
