Cases, messages to members, reasons, warnings, the escalation ladder, presets, protected roles, replies and lockdowns.
On the dashboard: /dashboard/…/moderation/settings. How it all fits together: Moderation.
Mod log channel mod_log_channel#
Dexy posts every case here: who, what, why and for how long. When a case changes (a new reason, a timeout ending, a warn revoked) Dexy edits its post.
Dexy needs to see the channel and send messages and embeds there. Empty: cases are only kept in the case log.
- Type
- A channel
- Default
- None
- Who can change it
- Dexy admins, or roles with the Settings or Moderation area.
Message members about actions mod_dm#
Whether Dexy tells members what happened, in a DM: before a kick or ban (so they still share a server), and on a warn or timeout.
- On — members get a DM with the server, the action, the reason, when it ends (or a warning's points and expiry), your appeal text and the case number
- Off — no DMs; --silent does the same for one action
Some members don't accept DMs. That never stops the action: the case says whether the DM arrived.
- Type
- On or off
- Default
- On
- Who can change it
- Dexy admins, or roles with the Settings or Moderation area.
Appeal text mod_appeal#
Added to the DMs about warnings, timeouts, kicks and bans, so people know where to ask for a second chance: a form, an email or a server. When appeals are open for that kind of case, a link to the appeal page follows it.
Up to 300 characters. Empty adds nothing.
- Type
- Text

- Limits
- Up to 300 characters.
- Who can change it
- Dexy admins, or roles with the Settings or Moderation area.
Reason required mod_require_reason#
Make moderators give a reason with every action, on the dashboard and in commands.
- On — an action without a reason is refused
- Off — reasons are optional (they can be added later)
Reasons also go to DiscordFluxer's audit log, cut at 512 characters.
- Type
- On or off
- Default
- Off
- Who can change it
- Dexy admins, or roles with the Settings or Moderation area.
Delete command messages mod_delete_command#
Delete the moderator's command message once it worked, so channels stay tidy and the action is less public.
Needs Dexy to have Manage Messages in the channel. The case and mod-log post stay.
- Type
- On or off
- Default
- Off
- Who can change it
- Dexy admins, or roles with the Settings or Moderation area.
Messages a ban deletes mod_ban_delete#
How much of a banned member's recent messages a ban deletes when the moderator doesn't say.
- None — messages stay
- 1 hour / 1 day / 7 days — messages they sent in that time go, in every channel
DiscordFluxer can delete at most 7 days. --delete 1h|1d|7d on a ban picks for that ban only.

- Default
- 30
- Limits
- 0 to 3650 days; 0 means warnings never expire.
- Who can change it
- Dexy admins, or roles with the Settings or Moderation area.
Warning ladder warn_ladder#
What Dexy does by itself when a warning takes a member's active points to a step, or past it.
- Timeout — they can't talk, react or join voice for a while
- Kick — they're removed and can join again with an invite
- Temporary ban — they're banned for a while, then can come back
- Ban — they're banned until someone unbans them
A step fires only when a warning crosses it on the way up, once. If one warning crosses several steps, the highest one fires. The automatic action is its own case, linked to the warning.
- Type
- A list
- Default
- None
- Limits
- Up to 10 steps, each at a different number of points (1 to 100).Actions:
timeout, kick, ban, tempban. Kicks and bans have no duration; timeouts last 1 minute to 365 days, temporary bans 1 minute to 730 days. - Who can change it
- Dexy admins, or roles with the Settings or Moderation area.
Warning presets warn_presets#
Ready-made warnings for your rules: a name, the points it's worth and the reason. Moderators pick one instead of typing.
In chat: warn @member <preset name>. Up to 10 presets.
- Type
- A list
- Default
- None
- Limits
- Up to 10 presets. A name is one word of up to 32 letters, digits,
-or_; each gives 1 to 100 points and has a reason of up to 512 characters. - Who can change it
- Dexy admins, or roles with the Settings or Moderation area.
Protected roles mod_protected_roles#
Members with one of these roles can't be warned, timed out, kicked or banned by moderators, in chat or here. Auto-mod leaves them alone too.
Dexy admins still can: the owner, Administrators, the Dexy admin role and Manage Server where it counts. The owner is always protected. In chat: modset protect add @role.
- Type
- A list of roles
- Default
- None
- Limits
- Up to 50 items.
- Who can change it
- Dexy admins, or roles with the Settings or Moderation area.
Lockdown channels mod_lockdown_channels#
The channels lock server and a lockdown (by hand or after a raid) lock. A category stands for the text channels in it.
- None picked — every text channel is locked
- Some picked — only those, so rules and announcements stay readable and writable as you set them
Unlocking puts each channel back as it was. In chat: modset lockdown add #channel.
- Type
- A list of channels
- Default
- None
- Limits
- Up to 200 items.
- Who can change it

Show the reason in replies mod_respond_reason#
Whether Dexy's reply after an action, in the channel where it was used, shows the reason (a Reason line in the reply's embed). Turn it off when actions happen in public channels.
The reason is still kept in the case, the mod log and the member's DM. Custom responses show it wherever they have {reason}.
- Type
- On or off
- Default

Custom responses mod_responses#
Your own words for the reply after an action. They become the text of Dexy's reply embed: its title, the details (reason, points, duration, whether the DM arrived) and the case number stay around them. Empty: Dexy's own text.
- {user} — their name
- {user.mention} — a mention (nobody is pinged)
- {moderator} — who did it
- {reason} — the reason, or “no reason given”
- {duration} — how long, empty when the action has none
- {case} — the case number
Up to 300 characters each. When your text has {reason}, the separate Reason line is left out. The DM to the member stays the same. In chat: modset response ban <text>.

Reply style mod_reply_style#
How Dexy answers in the channel after every action: warnings, timeouts, bans, roles, notes, purges, locks, slowmode and reason changes.
- Compact — a small embed with one line: what happened, to whom, the points or length and the reason; the case number below
- Detailed — the full embed: a title, then the reason, points, total, expiry, whether the DM arrived and the ladder step
- Text — the same line as plain text, ending with the case number; mentions never ping
- Reaction — no reply: Dexy reacts ✅ to your command
Errors and refusals always reply. Reaction: with Delete the command message on there's nothing to react to, so Dexy answers with the text line; a ladder step that failed is said in a line too. Custom replies still apply in every style, and the reason follows Show the reason. In chat: modset style reply text.

DM style mod_dm_style#
How the DM a member gets about a warning, timeout, kick or ban looks. Appeal decisions and the ladder's automatic actions use it too.
- Compact — two or three lines: what happened and where, the reason, then the case, the appeal link and when it ends
- Detailed — a heading, the reason, the points or length with dates, what it means for them, your appeal text and link
- Embed — a small embed with your server's name and icon, the reason and a few details
- Components V2 (Discord) — the Embed version as one Components V2 card
DM members turns them on or off. Your appeal text is added in every style. In chat: modset style dm embed.

- Detailed — a card per case: member, moderator, reason, length or points, status and appeal
- Compact — one line per case: the type, member, moderator, points or length, reason and case number
- Components V2 (Discord) — the detailed card as one Components V2 card, with its buttons inside it
Either way the post is edited when the case changes (a new reason, an expiry, a revoke), in the style picked now. In chat: modset style log compact.
